With heavy hearts, we announce Pedro Antonio Fuquen Rodriguez of Columbus, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2021, after his long battle against a terminal illness.
Pedro was born on 01/13/1948 in Tunja, Colombia. Pedro is survived by his two brothers; Jose Rodriguez and Micheal Robinson.
Pedro’s passion was music. He surrounded his life with this passion. He owned a DJ company and was known in the music industry as DJ Mag. He also taught dance classes at the local college. He loved volunteering at his church, where he played the percussion. His favorite hobbies were salsa dancing and making others laugh. He loved to support local restaurants with his patronage. Pedro was a proud Colombian American who fought with pride for his country during the Vietnam War. Pedro received meritorious decorations of courage, honor and leadership, which highlighted him throughout his life, including the Purple Heart. Throughout his golden years, he contributed as a worthy ambassador and host of Colombian highlights in the badge missions, in defense of life, peace, democracy and family. One of Pedro’s greatest achievements was his mustache.
Surviving are his daughters: Hilda Fuquen Riveros, and Katie Rodriguez Smith, and his grandchildren: Miguel, Walter, Amelia and Cassandra. Pedro leaves behind many loved ones and friends. Our deepest condolences are with the family.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2022 beginning at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and service will be Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM Graveside at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

My Percussionist and friend! I'm chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo for your repose.
I did not know my Uncle Pedro very well, but I do remember visiting him in Georgia when I was child. We drove from Florida to Georgia with my father, and I remember it being a long drive, at least for me at the time. It was also probably the first time I had ever been to Georgia, so it was a bit of an adventure. I remember learning he was a DJ and thinking that was really cool and seeing his DJ equipment and learning about that was really exciting.
I hope everyone has found memories of him to look back on, even the few memories I have I know I won't forget and will look back on happily. I wish I had gotten to know him better and so sorry to hear that he is gone.
