Dear Sandra and Family, my memory of Patricia is, she was a very sweet person, Sandra, I know it will take time to process the loss of your beloved Tricia.Everyone process maybe different and each person taking"their own time." But may you be comforted that we have a Savior that understands and can identify with our sorrows. For Jesus wept at the loss of His Dear Friend, Lazarus. May 2 Corinthians 5:8 encourage your hearts, reminding you that yes, we grieve, but not in the same way as those who have no hope. Praise God for the Hope of Eternal Life, through Jesus. My prayers will continue to be with you and Family.
Love Always, Brenda Davis and Family
On November 5, 2020, our beloved friend and fellow Eagle of Lumpkin High School class of '70, Patricia Johnson, received permission to land. After soaring aloft for sixty seven years, she commenced a gentle descent over the autumn sky of Columbus, Georgia and came to rest amid the rustic leaves of fall. As Christians, our faith is forged in the words of our omnipotent and omnipresent God. His words tell us in Ecclesiastes 3:2, "...There is a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;" Despite our steadfast belief in these words, as friends and classmates, we still weep; we still mourn. However, our mourning is not in vain for our God tells us that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. To Sandra and the rest of 'Tricia's family, please take heart in your memories of who she was, what she did, and how she changed your lives. As for me and the Class of '70, our lives were made better because the girl with the wide, infectious smile lived and learned among us and made our lives richer. Isaiah 40:31 "...But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like Eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." For now, the Class of '70 bids you farewell until we meet again. The Class of '70
In small towns everybody knows everybody. It was no different for my and "Tricia's" family. That's what we called her way back then. My family lived on the southern end of Omaha, Ga and her family lived on the northern end. We went to elementary school together in the middle. Then to Jr. High school in Richland; to High School in Lumpkin and on to college in Albany, Georgia. I remember Tricia-Trish-Pat, the names changed over the years, as serious by nature. She was independent and never minded sharing her journey. I still see Pat frozen in time in a photo at Lumpkin High School with a cast on her arm, wearing a short plaid skirt, white knee socks and a pink sweater. She smiled at the camera. She had few worries at that time.
My condolences to the family of Tricia-Trish- Pat. Sending sincere wishes that as the family gathers all their memories of her, they will find peace and solace.

It has been 50 years since I graduated from Lumpkin High School with Patricia Johnson as a fellow Eagle. Our High School Teachers had some objectives to make several "First African Americans." Our Teachers issued many challenging academic issues. Sometimes they created a challenge between the girls and boys. Patricia could always get help from the boys with her challenge when we ignored other girls. Patricia has a mesmerizing smile which captured our attention every time. I am sure that God and Angels in Heaven are smiling upon Patricia's Spirit as we wait for the return of Christ Jesus to see her again. - Jeff Hardwick, Jr. fellow Eagle from Lumpkin High School Class of 1970
Juanita Murdock Nelson and Family would like to send sincere condolences to the family of Patricia Johnson. May God Keep you.
