Obituary For Ora Lee Grier

Ms. Ora Lee Grier passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on September 8, 1940, in Lumpkin, Ga to the late Robert Lee Johnson and Fannie Mae Benton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Robert Lee Shepard, Willie J. Shepard, James Johnson, Willie F. Tiger; and two sisters, Gladys Shepard and Carolyn Davis.

Cherishing her memory are her four sons, Douglas Dunwoody, Moses Truesdale (Roslyn), Maurice Truesdale, Damien Grier; two daughters, Caleather Dunwoody, Stephanie Wade (Jason); two brothers, Robert Lee Johnson, Jean Shepard; one sister, Alice Rodgers; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of many other family and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Grier will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, with interment at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Progressive.
