Michael Holcomb, Sr., 63, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on April 23, 1958 to Willie and Queen Holcomb of Columbus, Georgia.
Michael grew up in Columbus where his parents taught him to love Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ. His love for Bible truths moved him to dedicate his life to Jehovah as a teenager and was baptized on July 5, 1975. At an early age, Michael was zealous and courageous and stood up for the truth. One of his greatest goals in life was to serve as a regular pioneer in the full-time ministry, which he was able to reach prior to his death. He was an effective teacher, enjoyed giving public talks as well as talking with others about the Bible in the Christian ministry.
In his leisure time, Michael enjoyed working with antique cars, sports, good music, and singing from the heart. He met Francis McWilliams and later married her on March 31, 1984 in Montgomery, Alabama. After working for several years, he retired from the Muscogee County School District.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Holcomb, mother, Queen Esther Holcomb, and sister, Queen Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Francis Holcomb, a son, Michael (Octavia), step grandson, Justin Williams, four brothers; Alex, Gregory (Yolanda), David, and Gary Holcomb (Taretta), six sisters; Bobbie Bullock, Carolyn Williams, Sheron Witherspoon, Gail Hol-comb, Alicia Holcomb, and Lakisha Holcomb, four brothers-in-law; Robert McWilliams, Jr., Oree McWilliams (Lue), Don McWilliams, James Smith, two sisters-in-law; Annie Caldwell (Leon), Johnnie McWilliams, a special aunt, Joanne P. Jones, and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Memorial Service for Michael will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM. You can watch the service via zoom. The zoom user id is 7064424347 and the password is holcomb. (see clickable link for zoom below)
We all love Michael and yearn to see him again in God’s promised New World when Jesus’ words spoken at John 11:23 are fulfilled: “Your brother will rise.”

My dear Sister Francis, our hearts and prayers go out to you and the family. We had an opportunity to worship together with you, Mike, and the congregation on one of our visits to Columbus in 2018. That was the first time we saw the two of you after several years, and sadly the last time we had a conversation with Mike. He had a great sense of humor as always, and we will surely miss the laughter he brought to so many friends. May you always cherish those happy times together. Michael and Marvietta McKnight
