Obituary For Michael DeAngelo Thompson, Jr.

Michael DeAngelo Thompson, Jr., affectionately known as “MD,” passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born to W.M. Thompson and Coreene Cox on February 4, 1948, in Missouri and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

A dedicated Operating Engineer and proud member of Michigan’s Operating Engineers Local 324, Michael took great pride in his work and loved building with his hands. He enjoyed watching his beloved Detroit Lions, listening to jazz, cooking, and spending time with family. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather, and family man whose greatest legacy is the love he shared and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Thompson, Jr., will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel Progressive.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
