Obituary For Margaret Louise Singleton
Ms. Margaret Louise Singleton passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on May 6, 1947, to the late Jimmie Payne Jr., and Lou Kathern (Davis) Payne in Memphis, TN.
The Memorial Service for Ms. Singleton will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Progressive.
Margaret L. Singleton leaves to cherish many memories; her son, Tracy L. Payne, Fort Mitchell, AL; daughter, Chebon T. Singleton, Phenix City, AL; other step-sons and daughters, MI; sister Princetta Payne, Raeford, NC; step-mother, Lorraine Payne; Step-sisters, Machelle, Freda, Ingrid and Tomika, Saginaw, MI; five grandsons, Tavelle Jr., O’Lando, Travontae (Shelby), Derome Jr., and Amiri; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Margaret L. Singleton was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie Payne Jr. and Lou Kathern (Davis) Payne; two brothers, Thomas and Sylvester Payne; a sister, Gwendolyn Walls; and a niece, Dhana Payne.
Progressive Funeral Home staff considers it an honor and a privilege to serve the Family of Ms. Margaret L. Singleton.
