My fondest memory of my dear Aunt Linda is shopping for black jeans when I came down to visit for the summer. We both liked to wear black jeans but didn't like how quickly they faded so, when I came down, we had a mission to find the best black jeans. She insisted that I always had a new pair to take back home.

Back in April, I came to visit while she was in a rehab facility after being hospitalized again. She tried to convince me to sneak her out so she could go home. She sweetened the deal by saying we could go buy black jeans if I got her out. I knew in that moment that those memories were just as special to her as they were to me and I now hold them even closer to my heart.

I'll be wearing my black jeans for you tomorrow, Auntie, and I'll keep a pair in my wardrobe in your honor 🫶🏽
