Mrs. Lillie Louise Wright was born in Seale, Alabama, on November 2, 1935, and went home June 25, 2026. She was a devoted Army wife and the mother of seven children. She spent over fifteen years teaching her children to adapt to new environments as she traveled throughout the country and Europe in service to the military. She was introverted and very shy. But she drew people to her and made wonderful friends at every station.
She instilled in her children the importance of kindness, education, and a good work ethic. With her seven children, she showed patience and love. She was a devout Christian and lived out that life in a way that drew her children to God. In her church and outside of it, she lived with a servant’s heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wright; her son, Jimmy Wright; her grandson, Terrell Hunt; her great-grandson, Krue Berklin; her parents, Sylvester and Mary Smith; and her sister, Emma Smith.
She leaves behind her brother, Sylvester Smith Jr. of Phenix City, AL; a son, David Smith of Columbus, Ga; daughter, Patricia Wright of Marietta, Ga; Dorothy Berklin of Phenix City, AL; Lillie Wright of Columbus, Ga; Mary Wright of Columbus, Ga; Emma Ikokwu (Ike) of Cumming, Ga; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
