Lewis "Mike" Lockett, 70, passed away on August 1, 2024, in Weaver, Alabama. Born on December 26, 1953, in Columbus, Georgia, he was a hardworking and loving family man.
SFC (Retired) Lewis Lockett will be laid to rest with full military honors at Green Acres Cemetery on Saturday, August 10, 2024 after a One O'clock PM Homegoing Celebration in the Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.

To Our Dear Cousin Barbara, as you release your beloved Husband Lewis into the bosom of our Lord, we share your pain. The years you spent together will be the strength to hold onto. His memory will be the legacy you must pass on to your children and grandchildren. We are lifting you before an almighty God Barbara, as you walk through these hours of bereavement. May peace, comfort, joy, and love overtake you and your family. You will hear a burst of laughter that will remind you of Mike. A sound that will pierce your heart that will remind you of him. A song that you will hear that will bring back loving memories, and they will all be done to strengthen you even further. Our deepest Sympathy is with you. My Uncle Mike, thank you for always exemplifying what a "Man" should model. Strength, courage, order, discipline, love and "Swag". You're the coolest dude I know. I will miss our football rivalry stand off's and our political dialogue. Rest well now, the faith you've always possessed has secured your destiny. To my Aunt Barbara, thank you for being an Amazing Everything to my Uncle, no one else no where could have done him justice in loving him as selflessly as you have, job well done!
