Mr. Lenard "Pencil" King passed away peacefully Thursday at Magnolia Manor Nursing Facility. He was 68 years of age.
The beloved son of Mrs. Willie Bell Walker King of Columbus and the late Wilson King, Sr., Lenard was born in Columbus and was a 1968 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He was employed with Lumus Industries for over 25 years and was a member of St. James CME Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his mother, Mrs. Willie Bell King; two daughters, Sheena Cornelius and Shannon Wagner (Spencer); six granddaughters, Kenya Cornelius, Jessica Cornelius, Sasha Cornelius, Chelsea White, Joardan Juggins and Langston Wagner; three great grandsons, Carter Huff, Carson Beasley and Parker Hampton; two brothers, Wilson King, Jr. and Steve A. King; three sisters, Cynthia Jackson (Archie), Marlene Jackson (LaFayette) and Phyllis Avery; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. King will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 12 noon at St. James CME Church with interment at Green Acres Cemetery. Pastor Alveria William will officiate.
Visitation will be held today at the funeral home.
