Mr. Johnny B. Echols passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on October 14, 1948, to the late Joseph Echols and Irene Jenkins in Phenix City, AL.
Cherishing his memories are: his wife, Gloria J. Echols; 5 children, Stacey Taylor, Angela None-Reed, Keisha Wilson, Tilena Wood, and Telisha Sherrod (Matthew); siblings, Richard Brown (Yvonne) and Annie Jenkins (George); 5 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Echols will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at New Testament Christian Center with interment at Evergreen Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be held on Friday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m at Progressive.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Johnny's passing. As classmates, we shared many fond memories with him during our time at South Girard Senior High School. We remember Johnny as both courageous and kind-hearted, and his legacy will forever remain in our hearts. We hope his family finds comfort in knowing how much he was respected and admired by all of us. We truly cherish the moments we spent together.
