Joe Tolbert, Jr. passed away peacefully Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia at the age of 96. A native of Chicago, IL., and the son of the late Susie Gamble and Joe Tolbert, Sr.
Mr. Tolbert was a graduate of Spencer High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of The Korean Conflict and retired from Civil Service where he worked as a cook for over 20 years.
Joe was a devoted member of Holsey Chapel CME Church in Columbus, Georgia. He was also a member of The American Legion Post #267 as well as a member of The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.
Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Mrs. Bertha Tolbert and one sister, Margaret Earl. He is survived by two sons, Mark Tolbert (Jackie), Warren Tolbert; Two daughters, Connie Williams (Thomas), Sheila Tolbert; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Homegoing Services for Mr. Tolbert will held at The Pavilion in Evergreen Memorial Park on December 18, 2020 at 1:00 P.M., Brother Steve Short will be officiating.
