Chester Stephen Galloway passed away in Columbus after a brief illness.
He was born at the U. S. Army Military Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany, the son of the late LTC (Ret.) Jesse M. Galloway and Mrs. Margie Stephens Galloway. The family lived in various states and countries, settling in Neptune, NJ. Chester graduated from Neptune Senior High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. Continuing his post graduate studies at Rutgers University Law School, he earned his Juris Doctorate in May of 1987. Mr. Galloway be- gan his Law career at Duane Morris LPP in Philadelphia, PA and then at McCarter and English of Newark, NJ. He attained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University and attended the Georgia State Andrew Young School of Policy where he was pursuing a PhD. He served as an assistant professor for the Business Law Department at Auburn University and also taught classes at Strayer University before his retirement.
Chester was married on November 15, 1992 to Dr. Donna Elizabeth Burrell of New York.
He is survived by his wife, Donna and their sons, Stephen and David; a daughter, Portia Jones and was the proud grandfather to Cadeyrn; three siblings, Jesse Galloway Jr. (Wendy), Gabrielle Galloway Bingham (Hank), Dwyane Galloway; two aunts, Betty B. Simmons and Dorothy G. Burton; loving cousins, Buddy, Valerie, Isabel, and Fred; his father and mother- in-law, Lloyd and Yvonne Burrell; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held for the family at Lake Lanier, Gainesville, GA on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
