Cheryl R. Trisvan-Hayes was born on November 18, 1961 to Ruby Trisvan Lyles and the late James Lyles in Petersburg, Virginia.
As a child of a military family, Cheryl had the privilege of attending schools in different cities and countries, including Honolulu, Hawaii and Ft. Clayton, Panama Canal Zone, now the country of Panama. Cheryl was a graduate of Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. After high school, Cheryl attended Columbus College where she majored in Psychology and Political Science. While Cheryl was at Columbus College, now Columbus State University, she pledged the Eta Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (“AKA”) and was an active member of AKA for a number of years. After college, Cheryl worked at the Environmental Protection Agency in Atlanta, Georgia where she was an Environmental Protection Specialist.
Cheryl accepted Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church in Jarratt, Virginia. She maintained a strong faith and love of the Lord throughout her life.
Cheryl had a natural talent for fashion, always effortlessly stylish, and her keen eye for detail extended beyond clothing into the world of interior design. Music was another of Cheryl’s great loves. It was the soundtrack to her life. Beyond her personal interests, Cheryl had a remarkable ability to inspire and motivate others. Her positive outlook and unwavering spirit made her a beacon of hope for those around her. She had a knack for finding the silver lining in any situation and encouraging others to do the same.
Cheryl R. Trisvan-Hayes departed this life on August 30, 2024. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Carl P. Hayes of Columbus, Georgia; her mother, Ruby Trisvan Lyles of Columbus, Georgia; her son, Edgar-Keiron Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister, Carmen Lyles-Irving of Snellville, Georgia; brothers-in law, Reginald Briley (Pamela) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Neno Hayes of Greenville, North Carolina; her aunts, Ruth Marshall of Riverview, Florida, Emma Lou Jones and Angela Wilson, both of Columbus, Georgia, and Carrie Louise Stephens of Phenix City, Alabama; her uncle, Gilbert Trisvan (Eleanor) of Colonial Heights, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Cheryl R. Trisvan- Hayes will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Progressive with interment immediately following at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
