Obituary For Carolyn Rodgers King
Carolyn Rodgers King was born on April 15, 1949, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Herman and Exxan Rodgers. She began her high school years in East Chicago, Indiana before continuing her education in Columbus, Georgia, where she proudly graduated from Carver High School in 1967.
Carolyn later moved to Gary, Indiana, where she managed Ace Hardware on 13th and Broadway for more than 19 years. She later worked at Lake County Rehab before returning to college and earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting.
Carolyn was also a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 40 years. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, hard work and dedication throughout her life.
A viewing will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Progressive Funeral Home.
Her Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, followed by burial at Green Acres Cemetery. Service will be live-streamed (see clickable link below)
