Ms. Carol J. Simmons passed away quietly Wednesday at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center at the age of 69.
A native of Columbus, GA and the daughter of the late Paul Walton and Thelma Hightower Hall, Carol attended Wiliam H. Spencer High School. After 33 years of services, she retired as Cashier at the cafe at St. Francis Hospital. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Roy Walton, Willie C. Hall, Justine Johns, Corrine Hightower, Eunice Hall and Amzy Thomas.
Survivors include two brothers, Byron Walton and James Shaheed Muhammad; two sisters, Annie Jackson and Arvella Phillips; a sister-in-law, Tillie Walton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Service of Love and Thanksgiving for the life of Carol will be conducted Two O'clock PM Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc with Minister Angela Palmer-Gibbons officiating.

Ms. Carol was a God fearing woman that lived her life to the fullest. She will be missed. She has finished her course. RIP Linda Sorrell
