Mrs. Bernice Brooks passed away peacefully Friday, December 18, 2020 at Piedmont Columbus Regional at the age of 83.
A native of Petersburg, Virginia, and the daughter of the late Beatrice Crawford and George Moore, Mrs. Brooks was a graduate of Henry Williams High School of Petersburg. Mrs. Bernice was an active member of Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia where she served faithfully with the culinary department. She was also a devout member of The Controllers Civic and Social Club. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Bonner; stepfather Mack Sylvester Crawford.
Mrs. Brooks leaves to celebrate her life; her loving husband of 62 years, Harry Brooks; two sons, Robert Brooks(Debbie), Harry Brooks, Jr.; one daughter, Dorothy Bush; three sisters, Hattie Franklin, Diane Crawford, and Gloria Crawford; and a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Bernice Brooks will be laid to rest at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on December 29, 2020 following an Eleven O’clock A.M. Celebration of Life in The Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Rev. Brandon Isome will be officiating.
Visitation is 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Funeral Home
