1SGT(Ret) Arlanza L. Cook I, passed away Thursday at his home at the age of 83.
A native of Seale, Alabama and the son of the late Jackson and Lillie Scott Cook, Mr. Cook was a proud graduate of William H. Spencer High School, Class of 56 and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict retiring after over 28 years of service, receiving numerous medals and awards. He also retired as a Correctional Officer at the Jack T. Rutledge Correctional Institute after 16 years of service. A devout member of Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59, Mrs. Alma Hall Cook; two loving children, Arlanza Lee Cook II and Arlene Cook Stubbs; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Johnnie L. cook, Sr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Cook will be laid to rest with full military honors at Main Post Cemetery on Thursday, March 31, 2022 following a Eleven O’clock AM Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church officiated by Pastor Curtis West. Arrangements entrusted to Progressive Funeral Home, Inc
