Mrs. Vinnie L. Jones, age 89, of West Point, GA, transitioned on May 18, 2025, at Diversicare Lanett, Lanett, AL.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Vinnie Jones will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Destiny Harvest, 403 N. Gilmer Avenue, Suite 107, Lanett, AL 36863 with Pastor Latika C. Spencer, Officiating, Pastor Sabrina Davidson, Eulogist.
Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, 701 M. L. King, Jr. Drive, West Point, GA. 31833
Mrs. Vinnie Jones was born on January 2, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Willie G. Floyd and Della May Loyd Floyd. A proud member of the Eastern Star, she was a homemaker who found purpose in caring for her family and others, especially through her love for cooking, until her health no longer allowed.
Mrs. Jones showed her care through action. She was strong-willed, very intelligent, and resourceful; traits that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She helped many throughout her life, offering support in her own unique and steady way.
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, Vinnie transitioned peacefully at Diversicare in Lanett, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wash Winston Jones; her son, Johnny Jones; her granddaughter, Sherrill Barnes; her grandsons, Kenny Reese and Lewis Norman Jones; and great-grandson Desmond Wendell Brooks.
Cherishing her memory are her seven daughters: Betty Reese (Josh Reese), Sherry Barnes (Terry Barnes), Glenda Johnson, Cathy Bacchus (Helidore Bacchus), Penny Jones, Celia Jones, and Tawanda Floyd. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Vinnie Jones will be remembered as a woman of strength, beauty, and resilience.
