Funeral Services for Mrs. Tomeka "Meka" Nichole Flournory will be held
Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. EST at the Pilgrim Baptist
Church, 420 North 12th Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863. Reverend Doctor
Fredrick James Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will follow in the
Hillcrest Cemetery, 3202 Country Club Road, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to
6:00 p.m. EST at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
Tomeka Nichole Flournory was born in Chambers County, Alabama, to Donna Marie Jones and the late Clarence Winston. She was lovingly raised by her mother alongside Constance Wright, who nurtured her with a mother's heart.
Tomeka proudly graduated from Lanett High School as a member of the Class of 1993. She continued her education at Southern Union State Community College. Tomeka went on to serve in the banking industry and began a long-standing career with the East Alabama Water Department in 2003, where she worked faithfully until her health declined in 2017.
A Beautiful Union in 1996
Tomeka married the love of her life, Secedrick Flournory. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised five beautiful children: Rajai (Nathan) Flournory, Kahleel (Cassie) Flournory, Jahleel (Gracee) Flournory, Emmanuel Magby Flournory and Amber Raine Flournory her treasured emotional support daughter/dog.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to:
Kynslee, Ava, Riley, Kaiden, Ziare, Khalani, and her fur grandpup Snoop D’Angelo Gibbs.
A Woman of Faith
Tomeka was rooted in faith. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, later joining Pilgrim Baptist Church. She supported organizations close to her heart, including the Betty LaGaye Foundation.
Cherished Bonds
Tomeka is remembered with love by her siblings: Jakola (Eric) Winston, Marchello Jones, Shakola Jones, and Phaedra Winston, her in-laws: Tollie (Marlon) Fisher and Natalya Flournory. Her godchildren: Malik, Zaylon, Zylen, and Mckayla and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and beloved friends.
Tomeka is welcomed into eternal rest by her father, Clarence Winston, her grandson, Braylon Raemod Flournory, grandparents: Robert & Mattie Mae Jones, Morris & Mamie Lou Winston, in-laws: Sharliss Flournory and Edward Young, aunts: Elizabeth Jones, Molly Annette Young, Barbara Hugley, Lucy Winston, uncle: Larry Jones.
Her Legacy
Tomeka will forever be remembered for her radiant spirit, contagious laughter, and boundless love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing her.
