Shirley Ann Jackson Booker, affectionally known as “Shell Ann” , was born June 21, 1956, in Troup County Georgia to the late Annie L. Davison Frazier and Virgil Davidson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Jackson and best friend Sherry Fitzpatrick.
Shirley attended the Troup County School System and at an early age confessed Christ as her SAVIOR and joined The New Zion Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama. She was employed at West Point Stephens, TJ Bell and Cagle’s in her early years. Later in life she began at Oakhurst Farm and was the proprietor of her own cleaning service where she worked faithfully until her last days.
To know Shirley was to LOVE her. She showed love and compassion to everyone. Shell Ann NEVER met a stranger. The Love for Her family and friends were unmeasurable. She was passionate about helping others, no matter how big or small; 2nd to that, raising her grandkids and LOVING her Family and Friends. She lived her life out loud and stood on GOD’s word! She was a confidant, friend, sister, and caregiver to anyone that needed it and in the end her words would be “Pray, just Pray about it!”
Shirley married Curtis Booker and with this union she leaves to mourn her three daughters, Nicole Cooper (Brooks), Consuelo Booker (Gwenorris) and Wander Booker (Horace Callaway); nine grandchildren, Constance Booker, Albert Trammell (Ashlun), Thadius Booker (Nevana), Nicholas Trammell, Radames Bailey, Charnesia Booker, Jer’Mesia Huguley, Jertavious Booker and Kaisleigh Todd-Booker; nine great grandchildren, Legend Bailey, Kashton Booker, Asher Trammell, Olivia Trammell Navhjae Copeland, Nakia Copeland, NiMiracle Copeland, Ne’Rian Copeland and Heaven Culpepper; siblings, Wanda Nadutey, Gwen Harrison (David), Rickey Davidson (Darryl), Tony Davidson (Adria), Marty Lovelace (Ja’Net), Gloria McQueen (Jr.), Dale Davidson, Tubby Davidson, and Lula B. Stinson (Henry); special nephew, LaTorian Whitfield; special family, Tori Davidson and Matthew Davidson; special friend, Andrew Spence; special neighbor, Johnathan Gill; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, loved ones and dear friends.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Shirley Booker. She was such an energetic and committed servant to our church family at Union Baptist. I will never forget how, after the tornadoes swept through West Point last spring, Ms. Shirley guided us to the people who were in need to help us distribute food and supplies. Though I remain confident in the hope of the resurrection of Jesus, she will be missed.
With all my prayers, Sherrad Hayes Pastor, Union Baptist Church
