Mr. Robert S. Thomas, 68, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Lanett, AL, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Wellstar Medical Center South, Atlanta, GA. Mr. Thomas was born November 16, 1949 in Lanett, AL.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Thomas will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. ET at the Evening Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Elijah Jackson, Jr., Pastor, Eulogist.
Interment will be following in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from12:00 (noon) until the funeral hour.

Robert received his education in the Lanett City School System. He was a graduate of the 1967 graduating class of Lanier High School. During high school, Robert was known for his athleticism. He was a stand-out fullback for the Lanier High Football Team.
Robert retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company with twenty-five years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Frank and Gensie Lou Thomas, a brother, Willie C. Thomas and a sister, Annie Lou Meadows.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Celia Thomas, Atlanta, GA; two sons, Maceo (Angela) Thomas, Macon, GA, Christopher Thomas, Atlanta, GA; one daughter Erica Thomas, Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Betty Ann (Rev. Walter) Walker, Wichita, KS, Lillie Mae Thomas, Lanett, AL, and Liz Foster, Louisville, KY; one brother, Eddie B. (Dorothy) Thomas, Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memories of high school friends are forever in the heart. Comfort & peace be with the entire Thomas family.
