Obituary For Raycine "Mama Ray" Hargett
Ms. Raycine "Mama Ray" Hargett, 78, of West Point, Georgia, returned to the arms of the Lord on July 24, 2026 at the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Georgia.
Raycine Coleman Hargett was born January 11, 1948 in Troup County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Gladys C. Coleman and late Charles Crawford. She peacefully passed away on July 24, 2026 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Georgia
Raycine received her education in the Troup County Schools. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Love Union Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until failing health. She was employed by West Point Pepperell(Riverdale Mill), where she retired from with many years of service.
“Mama Ray”,as she was known to many, was a loving woman to all who had the privilege of knowing her. With a heart of gold, she lived her life helping everyone she could, whether they were family or not. Raycine was a true hustler at heart—independent, determined, and deeply resilient. No matter what challenges life brought her way, she met them with fierce bravery. Through everything she endured, Raycine fought with unwavering strength until the very end. Her powerful legacy of unconditional love, generosity, and grit will live on forever in the hearts of those she left behind.
She was preceded in death by: her husband,
Marshall Hargett, Sr.; son,Marshall Hargett, Jr.; her parents; sister, Elizabeth Smith; brothers, Michael Bailey and Hubert Charles Coleman.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Maxcine Hargett, Joann Johnson( (Robert), Ocie Hargett, Keith Hargett, Videz Hargett, Tommy Coleman, and Terry Coleman; sisters, Pauline M. Cook, Patricia Cook, Mattie Ruth Gibson, Diane Bailey and June Bailey; brothers, Donnie Bailey(Wayden), Larry Bailey, Sr.(Carolyn), Roger Bailey(Shonda) and Hubert Bailey; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; special nieces, Nakita Moss and Patricia Reed; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
