Mrs. Priscilla Johnson, 64, of Valley, AL passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at her residence.
Homegoing Celebrations for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2109 1:00 p. m. EST from the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lanett, AL with the Dr. Jesse Walker, Pastor, Eulogist, Rev. Richard Carter, Rev. Darrow Windham, Jr. Dr. W. T. Edmondson, Rev. Terry Magby and Rev. W. G. Wimberly, assisting.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Valley, AL.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. EST at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
The remains will lie in state church on Saturday from 12:00(noon) until the funeral hour.
Public Viewing will be on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
Mrs. Priscilla Chambers Johnson was born on February 2, 1955, to the parentage of the late Johnny Lee Chambers Sr. and the late Mary Emma Walker Chambers. She departed into Heaven's gate on Saturday August 24, 2019, at her home in Valley, AL.
Mrs. Johnson confessed Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. She later united with her husband at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Priscilla worked, faithfully, as a member of the Missionary Society, Deacon Wives (treasurer), Nurses Guild, Matron's Department and worked with many other auxiliaries throughout the church. She was very active with the Hope Hills Cancer Support Group in LaFayette, AL.
Priscilla received her education in the Chambers County Public School System, where she was a member of the Valley High School 1973 graduating class. She was a former employee of the Lee County Courthouse.
“Cilla”, as she was affectionately known, was a loving, caring and God-fearing woman. She was loved and admired by many that she encountered. The thing she most admired beside her family was shopping.
On Feb 8, 1974 Priscilla was joined in Holy Matrimony to Willie Johnson, Jr. and to this union one child was born.
Priscilla was predeceased by her parents and a brother, John Titus Chambers.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a devoted husband, Willie B. Johnson, Jr., Valley, AL; one son, Will (Shanae) Johnson; grandchildren Zoe Grace Johnson and Micah Curtis Johnson, all of Kennesaw, GA; brother, Johnny(Piper) Chambers, Valley, AL; sisters, Mary (Grover) Sims, LaGrange, GA, Gloria Bailey, Valley, AL, Barbara Tyler, West Point, GA; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Chambers and Patricia Hutchinson, Lanett, AL, Elizabeth Johnson and Jacqueline Williams, Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Gladys) Johnson, West Point, GA, Jimmy (Natalie) Johnson and Rev. Bernard Williams, Lanett, AL, Calvin Williams and Rev. Chris Johnson, Jamaica, New York; aunts, Bobbie Vincent, Farmington Hills, MI, Affie Chambers and Louise Walker, Valley AL; one uncle, William Walker, Valley AL; 10 nieces,11 great nieces, 9 nephews, 15 great-nephews; best friends, JoAnn Magby, Priscilla Holloway, Marcia Thomas and Cassie Carlisle; and caregivers, Tina McBride and Mae Chambers
