Master Alonzo Kentrell Jones, age 2, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center, Columbus, GA.
Alonzo came into the lives of Logan C. Jones and Samaria Santos on July 1, 2022, joining sibling, Lorenzo Jones.
Despite his short time on earth, he was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around him.
From the moment he entered a room, you felt it: a shift, a brightening as if someone had turned up the light. This was Alonzo. He was a force of nature, a pint-sized package of unbridled enthusiasm and CURIOSITY. He didn’t just meet people; he ignited something in them, leaving a lingering warmth like embers from a BONFIRE. His unique way, at a young age of looking at the world—always with wide-eyed wonder and an open heart—was a gift to everyone he encountered. Alonzo was his brother’s (Lorenzo) keeper.
Our family is forever changed and forever grateful to have spent this brief, but incredibly meaningful, time with Alonzo. He is survived by his loving family: father, Logan Jones; mother, Samaria Santos; brother, Lorenzo Jones; grandparents, Perry J. Jones Sr. (Papa), Amanda Jones (GiGi), and Sophia Marin; great grandparents, Gwendolyn Jones Carter, Betty Black, and Sofia Flores; great-great-grandmother, Clemmie Jones; uncles, Perry J. Jones, Jr. (Uncle P), Stephen Jones, and Joshua Villanueva; aunts, Jeanette Marin, Brilly Santos, Noelia Santos, Alessi Machado and Mariella Montoya;
great-uncle, Roderick(Sharon)Jones; great-aunts, Michelle(Ronnie)Tucker, Nicole Gates, Felicia(Lan-Lan) Jones; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral arrangements by M.W. Lee Mortuary.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Alonzo. He often attended my storytime program at the library with his daycare. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." Psalms 34:18
