Ms. Mary Frances Malone, 89, of West Point, GA, transitioned on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Conyers, GA.
Mary Frances Malone was born on July 20, 1934, to the late Leila Bell and Homer Roy Hunter in West Point, GA. She was the youngest of three siblings.
“Ms. Frances”, as she was fondly known as, was baptized as a member of Emanuel Chapel CME Church. She later moved her membership to Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir before stepping down. Here she remained a faithful member until failing health. Ms. Frances was a product of the West Point Public School System, where she was a graduate of Tenth Street High School.
Frances was joined in Holy Matrimony to Oscar Malone on July 21 1998. This union ended after 22 years of marriage, with the passing of her beloved husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Donald Rene Winston, her parents and one sister, Mary Alice White.
Frances is survived by: two daughters, Sandra(Henry)Todd, Conyers, GA, Deborah McLemore, West Point, GA; one sister, Doris Schell, San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren; Takesha (Rick Brown) of Lilburn, GA, Avone (Jeffrey) Bell of West Point, GA, Shalanda Wright of Lanett, AL, Donald Winston of West Point, GA, Sakita Trammell of Owings Mill, MA, Jonai Jackson and John A. Jackson II, Conyers, GA, Corey McLemore, Shaundaris Sands and Takevian Jackson of West Point, GA, Kaston Callaway, Valley, AL; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Malone will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Keeney Memorial UMC, 703 Avenue K, West Point, GA, Rev. Brenda Pritchett Rhodes, Pastor, Eulogist, Evangelist Stephanie Davenport and Ms. Toshiba McCree, assisting.
Interment will follow in Marseilles Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. ET until 6:00 p.m. ET at the mortuary.
