Mrs. Mary Frances Brooks Lancaster was born to the late Booker T. and Lizzie Thomas Brooks on July 21, 1939, in LaGrange, GA. Very peacefully, she departed this life and entered eternal rest on April 2, 2022, at her residence.
At an early age she confessed to Christ and united with the Friendship Baptist Church and in later years she attended Emanuel Chapel CME Church with her daughter until her health declined. Mary rededicated her life back to Christ in July, 2018.
“Cup,” ,she was known by many, received her education from Ethel Kight School in Troup County, GA.
On February 15, 1964, Mary joined in Holy Matrimony to Eddie Lewis Lancaster and from this union one son was born, LaFredrick Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lewis Lancaster; brothers, Charlie (Evelyn) Brooks, Eddie B. (Emma) Brooks, Tommie Brooks and a sister, Tempie (Harold) McBride.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter Dorothy L. Brooks, West Point, GA; one son, LaFredrick Lancaster, West Point, GA; one brother, Robert (Debra) Brooks, West Point, GA; one sister, Dorothy Cistrunk; two grandsons, TeCarlos (Jay) Williams, Temple, TX and Camari Watson, Birmingham, AL; three granddaughters, Terri Canady, Laila and Bella Lancaster, Valley, AL; five great grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, Janiya Cotton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special cousin, George Lovelace, Lanett, AL; godson, Vernon Avery, West Point, GA.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Lancaster will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Marseilles Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Autry, Sr. serving as the Eulogist and Rev. John Fredrick, assisting.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
