Obituary For Larkin Roosevelt McCants, Jr.
Mr. Larkin Roosevelt McCants, Jr. was born on July 25, 1961, in Valley, Alabama to the parentage of the late Larkin(Sr.) and Billie Jean McCants. He was called home to glory on Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home in Columbus, GA.
Larkin confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Rehoboth Baptist Church,Valley, AL.
Larkin received his education from Chambers County School System and was an employee of West Point Pepperell Fairfax Mill before entering the United States Military, National Guard.
Larkin was preceded in death by his sister Tracy Sabrina McCants
He leaves to cherish his precious life: his loving wife Jane Legrand McCants of Columbus, Ga. two sons, Montae Walker, Lanett, Al, Larkin Jakobi (Kim) McCants of LaGrange, Ga. One daughter; Kayla Elizabeth McKenzie(Toronto) of Columbus, Ga.; Two stepsons Justin Hill and Joshua Adams of Phenix City, Al. One special daughter-in-law, Dr. Latesha Walker of Columbus, Ga. Seven grandchildren: Aubrey Rose McCants, Lagrange, Ga.. Kayin Simone Walker, Zaire Walker, Kierslyn Lar’Rose McKenzie, Kharsyn Larking McKenzie all of Columbus, Ga. Jada Hill, Jace Hill of Phenix City, Al. Four brothers: Trent (Chureka)McCants, Opelika, Al., Eric McCants (Tyronza Thornton), Terry McCants, Edward Shealy all of Valley, Al. five sisters; Priscilla (Micheal) Hutchinson, Valley, Al. Sandra (Rev, Stanley) Roberts, Sr., Jennifer Heard of Lanett, Al. Barbara (Charlie) Little, Valley, Al. Debra Currington, Atlanta, Ga. Five Aunts; Linda Sue Kimbrough, Albany, Ga, Alice (Ross) Berg, and Barbara Weaver of Tampa, Fl, Linda Weaver and Christine Weaver of Columbus, Ga. Four uncles: Mack Weaver of New York, NY, David Weaver, Kelvin Weaver of Columbus, Ga. Jeffery Weaver, South Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family members, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. ET in the sanctuary of the Rehoboth Baptist Church, 205 Huguley Road, Valley, AL 36854 with Rev. Karanja Story, Pastor/Officiant, Rev. Stanley Roberts, Eulogist, Rev. Joseph McCants, Rev. Rodney and Rev. Carterris Tucker, assisting.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m at the mortuary.
