Obituary For Landon “Boo” Ward

Mr. Landon “Boo” Ward, 82, of West Point, Georgia, gained his wings into eternal rest at Wellstar West GA Medical Center, LaGrange, Georgia on August 16, 2026.

Landon Ward was born on August 1, 1944, to the late Willie and Lois Vaughn Ward. He departed this life on August 16, 2026 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Georgia.

At an early age, Landon dedicated his life to Christ and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. His faith remained an important and guiding part of his life.

Landon found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching baseball and was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed spending time working crossword puzzles.

Landon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ossie McCants; brother-in-law, Benne McCants Sr.; son, Olandon Hutchinson; niece, Bevere McCants; and nephew, Erick McCants.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: one son, Alanteo (Tameka) Hutchinson (West Point Georgia); one daughter, Caroline Wesley (Charlotte,North Carolina); and a daughter, whom he raised and loved as his own, Nedra (Barbara) Hutchinson (Covington Georgia); five grandchildren, Xzavion Hutchinson, Mar'Yana Hutchinson, Daquarius Atkinson, Karsyn Scott, and Jahvintae McQueen; two great-grandchildren, Kyomi Neal and Alayiah Hutchinson; one nephew, Benne R. (Monifa) McCants Jr.; and two nieces, Genene (David) Brown and Stacey McCants (Derrick Peterson); two honorary sisters, Agnes Billingslea and Darnell (Doug) Simmons; two honorary brothers, Johnny Hill and Bobby Bridges; along with a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

Landon’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
