Obituary For Juland “Thip” Smith

Ms. Juland “Thip” Smith, 93, of West Point, GA, gained her wings into eternal rest on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at her residence.

Ms. Juland “Thip” Smith was born on September 14, 1930 in Chambers County (Valley, Alabama, to the union of the late Willie L. and Mammie Lee Wright.
Ms.“Thip” ,as she was known by many, received her education at Tenth Street High School.

She was employed as a housekeeper for many years and at West Point Pepperell.

Ms.“Thip” was a loving and dedicated mother, sister, grandmother, godmother, and friend until she departed this life on July 28, 2024.

She was proceded in death by her siblings: brothers, Olin Wright, Limmie Wright; sisters, Mattie Billingslea, Emma Green, Mary Dean Barns and grandson, Antwan Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Catrina Davidson, Brenda Spratling, Nisa Barrett; three Joe Wortham, Oscar Davidson, and Victor Bailey; grandchildren, Vinyatta Davidson, Shicopia (Shaun) Anthony, David Tumbs, Symone Davidson, Artex Barrett, Jacinta Davidson, Kamarious Davidson; siblings, Joyce (Vernon) Askew, Willie (Hester) Wright, Willie B. (Gwen) Wright; 19 great grandkids and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.

Funeral Services for Ms. Smith will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the sanctuary of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2400 Old West Point Road, West Point, GA 31833 with Rev. LaFrederick Bridges, Pastor, Eulogist, Rev. Charles Trammell and Rev. Alton Barber, assisting. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, GA.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 2:30:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
