John Collier Trice(JC) was born on May 27, 1941 in West Point, Georgia to the parents of Ernest Trice, Jr. and Charlie Mae Edge. He departed this life on October 19, 2024 at the Florence Hand Nursing Home in LaGrange, Georgia.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church, West Point, Georgia.
“JC”, as he was affectionately known, was a product of Harrison High School in West Point, Georgia. He was employed with West Point Stevens until his health failed. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers whenever he had the chance to go. He also enjoyed working on his cars along with his son,Torrie.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Pearl Trice; his parents, Earnest Jr. and Charlie Mae Trice; a sister, Louella Jackson; three brothers, Calvin Trice, William Trice, and Arthur Edge; and a niece, Antionette Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Torrie(Dorothy)Trice (Dorothy) and Warren Trice, West Point Georgia; two daughters, Wanda Nadutey, Pensacola, Florida and Lilic(George)Drake, Hapeville, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Marshell Trice Jackson, Covington, Georgia, Jetorria Tiara Trice and Shermiyer Wilson West Point, Georgia, Lakisha Thomas, Atlanta, Georgia, Whorlah Thomas Biloxi, Mississippi, Earl Nadutey and Deunna Nadutey, Pensacola, Florida, and Jacque Drake, Hapeville, GA; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Earnestine McFarley, Rebecca Sands, West Point, GA and Addie M. Hutchinson, Albany, Georgia; one brother; Gregory (Minnie) Trice, West Point, Georgia; Pastor Teresa Reese, an adopted niece, who affectionately called him “Unc”; a host of nieces and nephews; two special friends; Jerry Brooks and Marian Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. ET in the Westview Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, GA with Pastor Brenda Pritchett Rhodes, Eulogist, Rev. Michael Slaughter, assisting.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
