Mr. Gregory “Skibo” Thomas, age 65, of Fairburn, GA, formerly of West Point, GA gained his wings into eternal rest on Friday, January 1, 2021 at WellStar Douglasville Medical Center, Douglasville, GA.
Mr. Gregory T. Thomas, better known as “Skibo”, was born on December 27, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. At a very young age the family moved to West Point, GA, where he grew up. He was the first child of the late John T. Thomas and Ella M. Thomas. Gregory gained his eternal rest on Friday, January 1, 2021, at WellStar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA.
Gregory attended West Point High School. He was employed with InvaCare for over 18 years. His current employer was ConMed. “Skibo” enjoyed watching two of his favorite footballs teams the “Atlanta Falcons” and “Auburn Tigers”. He enjoyed spending time with family and cooking on the grill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry L. Thomas.
Gregory leave to cherish his memories: one daughter, LaShonda Morris of Lithonia, GA; one son, LaFrederick Spence of Opelika, AL; nine grandchildren, Quintavise, Summer, Alycia, CaShonda, Clifton, Clifford, Jayla, Khaci, and LaFrederick, Jr; one great granddaughter Bella; six sisters, Karen (Harold) Frazier of Douglasville, GA, Eulah Swinney of Fairburn, GA, Beulah (Terence) Doby of Fairburn, GA, Marilyn Thomas of Fairburn, GA; Loraine Buchannon of Opelika AL, and Christine Harris of Lanett, AL; nieces and nephews, Tasha(Eli) Jones, Lynn Swinney, Reginald(Alena) Young, Sacarri Gilbert, Ashley(JaCorie) Crayton, Marlin Frazier, Jerry Thomas,Ryan Thomas, Maria Thomas, Tony Strickland, Loureesie, Mary, Lorni, Bobby and Randy Buchannon; special cousins, Sharon, Vanessa, Charna, Angela, Demetrius Morris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services for Mr. Thomas will be at 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, GA with Pastor Giovanno M. Smith serving as the Eulogist and Pastor Vanessa Hall, Assisting.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

My Brother. I met Greg in 2002,worked with him at Invacare and Conmed, one of the best people you will ever meet. We had plenty of good times together and you were Truly a Great Friend. I thank God for allowing me to spend sometime with you one last time before you became ill. Skibo I never would have thought that I would be saying goodbye to you forever but God knows best.
