Ms. Georgia Ann Murphy Stafford, age 73, of West Point, GA, transitioned on August 13, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral Services for Ms. Georgia Ann Murphy Stafford will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. EST at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1111 East 10th Street, West Point, Georgia 31833. Reverend Travis Porter, II, Pastor, Reverend Michael Slaughter, Eulogist and Overseer Gary L. Fanning, Officiant.
Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, Georgia 31833.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
Ms. Georgia Ann Murphy Stafford, the
daughter of the late Mr. George, Sr. and Minnie
Murphy, was born January 9, 1952 in West Point,
Troup County, GA. Surrounded by her love ones,
she peacefully answered the master’s call into
eternal rest of August 13, 2025 at her residence.
Georgia accepted Christ at an early age and
united with the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist
Church, West Point, GA. Later she united with
the Word Church under the leadership of
Reverend Michael Slaughter, Sr. Georgia loved
the Lord and didn’t mind telling and sharing
the goodness of God. She was an outgoing
person that never met a stranger; she
brought joy to all that knew her. Her friendly
and generous attitude will be greatly missed.
Georgia was full of life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr.
Horace “It low” Stafford; parents, Mr. Georgia
Willie, Sr. and Minnie Murphy; one sister,
Gladys “Bit” Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one
daughter, Yolanda (Debrozzo) Johnson, West
Point, GA; five grandchildren, Erica Stafford,
Stefone Stafford (Keisha), Brelanda Stafford,
Jihad Nunlly, Ah’laisha Murphy all of West
Point, GA; seven grandkids, Demarcus, Erin,
Janiah, Jihad, Jr., Karmony, Khole; six sisters,
Linda Wortham of Atlanta, GA, Eva Benjamin,
Sarah Murphy, Gail Murphy, Carolyn Murphy
all of West Point, GA, Sharon( Rev. Stan) Tucker,
LaGrange, GA; two brothers, George Willie
Murphy (Gloria) Murphy, Jr., Columbus, GA and
Vincent(Diane) Murphy, West Point, GA; a
special friend, Willie “Bro” Reed of West Point, GA
