Mr. George W. “Short Boy” Davidson, 79, of West Point, GA, gained his wings into eternal rest on February 26, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral Services for Mr. George W. Davidson, will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1111 East 10th Street, West Point, Georgia, Rev. Travis D. Porter, II, Pastor, Rev. Connie Hall, Eulogist, and Rev. Adrian Frazier, Officiant. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, GA
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
George Davidson, Sr., affectionately known as, “Short Boy”, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on February 26, 2026.
George was born in West Point, Georgia to the late Lovice “Pete” and Mary “Biddy” Davidson. He attended Harris County School System.
On June 16, 1973, George married the love of his life, Diane Davidson, with whom he shared his zeal for life. He was a dedicated employee of Chris Clark Grading and Paving for over 40 years. George was known for his love of motorcycles and hats, genuine loyalty, and eagerness to teach anyone who was willing to learn. Despite his many responsibilities, his family was always his number one priority. Although, George was a man of few words, he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandchildren, Da’Kari Davidson and Dawson Davidson and brother, Jesse Davidson.
George leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife and faithful caregiver, Diane Davidson, West Point, GA; his children, Ratha (Taddy) Hall, Savannah, GA, Sharon (Travis) Carter LaGrange, GA, Terrence Meadows, Shawmut, AL, George Davidson, Jr., Cherry Davidson, Takeshi Davidson, Tammy Shealey, and Regina (Anthony) Carlisle all of West Point, GA; sibling, Maime McFarlin of West Point, GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews; extended family, Chris (Denise) Clark and family, Lanett, AL; and host of other relatives and friends; special friend, Tommy Gilliam, Jr., West Point, GA
We find comfort in knowing that George’s legacy lives on through the love he shared and we will forever cherish the memories.
