Obituary For Geneva L. Spratling
Ms. Geneva L. Spratling, age 79, of Lanett, AL, transitioned on June 12, 2025 at Diversicare of Lanett, Lanett, AL.
Funeral Services for Ms. Geneva Spratling will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. ET in the sanctuary of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 1601 Magnolia Road, Lanett, Alabama 36863, with Rev. Justin M. Freeman, Pastor, Bishop Donald Lancaster, Rev. Charlie Pulliam, and Min. Bobbie Ogletree, assisting.
Interment will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery, 2235 22nd Avenue, SW, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
Pubic viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.ET until 6:00 p.m. ET at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
Geneva Spratling was born February 12, 1946, to the late Leamon Brooks-Lyons and Charlie Lyons in Chambers County, Alabama. She departed this life on June 12, 2025, at Diversicare, Lanett, Alabama.
Early in life, Geneva accepted Christ as her savior and attended Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama.
Geneva was affectionately known to many. She was employed by West Point Steven-Pepperell and Interface, where she later retired in 2008. She loved her children, grandchildren and her family.
She was preceded in death children, Regina Spratling, Cassandra Spratling-Houston and Cory Spratling; parents, Leamon and Charlie Lyons; siblings, LC Lyons, Dennis Lyons, Mary Frances Brown and Alford Lyons; and a special cousin, Reverend Louis Upshaw.
Geneva leaves behind her loving children, Clinton (Betrina) Spratling, Spencer Spratling, and Myron (Tona) Spratling all of Lanett, Alabama; precious grandchildren, Trineshia Spratling, Chantrease Spratling, Chontia Spratling, NaBrawski Spratling, Coreycia Spratling, Raneshia Spratling, Jasmine Spratling, Chauncey Wallace, Elijah Spratling, LaRaven Walton, Lavell Magby, Amari Spratling, and Myron Spratling, Jr.; a host of great grandchildren; siblings, Ralph Lyons, Clarence (Melody) Lyons, Louise (Roosevelt, Sr.) Flournoy, Mae (Jeffery) Finch, and Jerry Lyons; two sisters in law, Nettie Lyons and Betty Lyons; and an array of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
