Mr. Franklin Winston, Sr., 79, of Lanett, Alabama transitioned on September 23, 2025 at his residence.
Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Franklin Winston, Sr. will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. EST in the sanctuary of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2400 Old West Point Road, West Point, GA 31833 with Rev. LaFrederick Bridges, Pastor, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, 800 Austin Street, West Point, GA 31833
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. EST until 6:00 p.m. EST at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
Franklin Winston Sr. was born on October 30, 1945, in West Point, GA to the late Annie Mae Winston. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and had a personal relationship with him until he was called home. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon of the church.
Franklin attended the Troup County School system, graduating with the Harrison High School Class of 1964. He had a love for people, but most of all, he loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, worker, and friend. Franklin will truly be missed.
Franklin gained his wings on September 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Winston; wife, Dorothy Ann Winston; daughter, Doris Ann Winston; son, Franklin Winston Jr., and brothers, Gussie Winston and Claude Winston.
Franklin leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Sabrina (Cedric) Brunson of Montgomery, Alabama, Lisa Paige ,Valley, Alabama; grandchildren, Gabrielle Brunson, Emmanuelle Brunson, and Isaiah Brunson all of Montgomery, Alabama, Ashlee Winston of Valley, Alabama, Jabriellya, Winston, Jaquantez Winston, Javuntae Winston, Jaborskious Boyd, Baraskious Dowdell and Frequaesha Ray all of Lanett, Alabama, Mahogany Ray-Allen of Huntsville, Alabama, Moeisha Paige of Albany, Georgia, Leshia Paige of Houston Texas, Taiesha Paige of Auburn, Alabama, Anthony Paige of Valley, Alabama, and Javuntae Paige of South Carolina; greatgrandchildren, Sanchez, Bella, and Brixton Winston, Morgan Kate Heath; daughter-in-law, Katrina Ray Winston, Lanett, Alabama; brother-in-law, Joesph Parker of Senoia, Georgia; sisters -in-law, Joesphine(Darrell) Washington of Fairburn, Georgia, Ruby Parker of Gay, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
