Ms. Felicia Chavonne Bourne, 39, of West Point, GA, gained her heavenly wings into eternal rest on January 2, 2024 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, GA.
Felicia Chavonne Bourne was born on February 27, 1984 to the late Felix and Helen Wallace Gilbert. She was born on March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, Moreno Valley County, California, while her Dad was stationed at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernadino, California.
Her family relocated to Charleston, South Carolina and then eventually settled in West Point, Georgia.
Felicia graduated from Troup County High School in LaGrange, Georgia. While attending high school, she enjoyed music and playing in the school band. She and her bestie enjoyed playing, dancing around and enjoying each other’s company. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Paine College in Augusta, Georgia. Even though college did not work out, she continued to pursue her love of children and started working as a substitute teacher at Long Cane Middle School and West Point Elementary.
Felicia occupied jobs, from substitute teacher, cashier, janitorial, care giver of her Mother and most importantly, to the best job of being a loving mom to her son, Aaron.
Felicia loved butterflies, cats, singing, playing the piano for the church and loved everyone that she came in contact with. There always was a smile and a friendly hug coming from Felicia whenever she saw you.
After a brief illness, Felicia joined her parents in heaven on January 2, 2024 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Georgia. She spent her last days sleeping but would occasionally dance in the bed and smile with her family. We don’t know if she knew the end was so near, but we know she was ready. We were not ready.
Felicia leaves behind her beloved son, Aaron; her brother, Calvin Lee (Keeley); sisters Regina McQueen (Steve) and Marie Carter; a great aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins and other relatives and friend. My prayers and condolences
First, to Aaron, I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother, Felicia. I've known your mom since she was younger than you. Through the years, I watched her grow into a sweet, beautiful, kind-hearted woman and I've seen how she has instilled those same qualities in you. Death is an enemy but is temporary. One day you will see your mom again.
To the family, please accept my condolences for the loss of such a precious young lady, Felicia. You are in my thoughts & prayers.
