Mr. Eulace “Baby” Billingslea, 83, of West Point, GA, transitioned on September 28, 2024 at his residence.
Eulace Billingslea, affectionately referred to as "Baby" , was born July 2, 1940, in Chambers County, Alabama to the parentage of the late Mr. Pal Earnest Billingslea and Mrs. Nellie Mae Graham Billingslea. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at his home in West Point, Georgia.
Eulace confessed Christ at an early age at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Stateline Road, Lanett, Alabama. Later he joined with St John Baptist Church, Cherry Dr., Lanett, Alabama where he served in various ministries including the usher, choir and transportation.
He was a member of the graduating class of 1960.
In 1961, Eulace and the love of his life, Francine Billingslea, were united in Holy Matrimony and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts to begin their lives together.
Eulace’s unwavering dedication and commitment were evident in his illustrious career at Honeywell, where he served as a mechanic for over 25 years.
In 1987, Eulace and Francine made a significant decision to return home to West Point. They opened and operated a thriving one-stop carwash and body shop, a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to their community. The carwash continues to serve the community under new management.
Eulace was a man of many talents and interests. He loved to fish, and he found pleasure in listening and making music. He often worked as a DJ at various social events. He also, enjoyed watching Braves baseball games, and vintage movies. Eulace enjoyed traveling and often arranged meetups with his friends in Boston. He was a great person and lived life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Francine Billingslea; parents Mr. Pal Earnest Billingslea and Mrs. Nellie Mae Graham Billingslea; brothers Mr. Jimmy Lee Billingslea, Mr. Beother Billingslea, and Mr. James Billingslea, sister Ms. Julia Billingslea; mother-in-law Mrs. Clara Mae Nolan West, and father-in-law Mr. Anderson & Mrs. Betty Trammell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Billingslea, Mrs. Willie Mae Billingslea (West Point, GA), Mrs. Viola Billingslea (Forrest Park GA), Jennie Trammell (LaGrange, GA); brother-in-law, George (Jennifer) Jennings (Luthersville, GA); devoted niece, Mrs. Cynthia (Sunday) Nwokocha (Atlanta, GA) nephew Mr. Jeffery Billingslea ( West Point, GA) and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Eulace “Baby” Billingslea will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. ET in the sanctuary of the St. John Baptist Church, 820 Cherry Drive, Lanett, AL 36863 with Rev. Charles Trammell, Pastor/Eulogist.
Interment will be held in the Marseilles Cemetery 400-498 East 12th Street, West Point, GA 31833.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
