Mr. Edward “Pee Wee” Boyd, Jr., age 71, of Lanett, AL, transitioned on June 21, 2025 at the Bethany House, Auburn, AL.
Funeral Services for Mr. Edward “Pee Wee” Boyd, Jr. will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 12:00(noon) in the M. W. Lee Mortuary Chapel, 1304 E. 10th Street, West Point, GA 31833 with Rev. David Bardshaw, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery, 2235 22nd Avenue, SW, Lanett, AL 36863.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. ET until 6:00 p.m. ET at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
Edward (Peewee) Boyd, Jr. was born on July 23, 1953, in Langdale, Alabama. He entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2025 in the Bethany House, Auburn, Alabama.
At an early age, “Pee Wee”, as he was known by many, joined the Church of Christ, Lanett, Alabama. He was a product of the Lanett Public School System and attended Lanier High School.
Pee Wee was employed by the West Point Feed and Seed Store, Lanett Dye Works. He was employed by Sandra Glover. He, also, did different odd jobs helping Mr. Gerald Mashburn and anyone who he could serve in the community to grass cutting and painting. Edward was a great handy man.
Edward lived a life full of compassion and joy. He never met a stranger and dancing was his therapy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward, Sr. and Willie Boyd; sister, Helen Davidson, and brother, Tommy Boyd Sr.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories: his aunt, Gladys Hill of LaGrange, Georgia; nieces, Tomeka Billingsley, Kashocka(Ervin) Tumbs,
Lakesha(Willie) Brooks, Cingoya Bailey of Lanett, Alabama, Gresha Barmore of West Point, Georgia; nephews, Danny (Annette) Davidson and Tommy Boyd, Jr. of Lanett, Alabama; special cousins, Kathleen Boyd and Cassandra Boyd Grier of Valley, Alabama, Martha Boyd McMurry of Louisville, Kentucky, and Majorie Boyd of Columbus, Georgia; special sister- in-law, Ramona Glaze; special caregiver and friends, Mr. Edmond and Sandra Glover of West Point, Georgia and Mr. Gerald Mashburn (Butterball) of Lanett, Alabama; long life friend, Melvin (Bluke) Glaze of Lanett, Alabama; host of other relatives and friends.
