Funeral Services for Deacon David C. Huguley, will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EST in the sanctuary of St. John Baptist Church, 820 Cherry Drive, Lanett, Alabama 36863. Reverend Charles Trammell, Pastor, Reverend Elijah Jackson, Eulogist, Reverend Edward Lane, Officiating and Dr. D. Jordan, Assisting. Interment will follow in the Evening Springs Church Cemetery, 4826 Country Club Road, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.
David Christopher Huguley was born on December 13, 1956, in Lanett, Alabama, to the late Culver Edward Huguley and Exia Mae Huguley.
At an early age, David accepted Christ and became a devoted member of Evening Springs Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. His strong faith remained a guiding force throughout his life.
David was a proud graduate of Lanett High School. He dedicated many years of hard work to Shawmut Textile and Knauf Mill, where he was known for his commitment and reliability until his retirement.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, David cherished his family deeply. He was a man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication. David’s life was a testament to faith, service, and devotion.
On September 16, 2000, David was united in holy matrimony to his devoted wife, Mae Doris Huguley. Together, they shared a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
David was a Gospel Radio Disc Jockey for years.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2026, David passed away peacefully at his home in Lanett, Alabama.
He will always be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Huguley; his parents; his sisters, Annie Roberson and Barbara Huguley; and his brothers, William Edward Huguley and Emerson Lindsey.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife, Mae Doris Huguley, his son, Christopher (Michelle) Huguley; his step-son, Crawford McCants; five sisters, Mary Stafford, Gwen Huguley, Shirley Hardnett, Patricia Huguley, and Sara (Shane) Goodwin; a sister-in-love, Mary Stafford (“Chu Chu”); eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
