Chantell Lorraine Hodo was born on December 28, 1961 in Troup County, GA. She was the sixth child born to the late Willie Cliff and Willie Lene Robinson-Hodo.
On January 26, 2023 she entered into eternal rest with her parents and siblings.
As an early age, Chantell accepted Christ as her Lord and savior and was of Baptist Faith.
She graduated from Westinghouse Vocational High School in 1979.
A devoted nurse for 40 years, Chantell exemplified God’s requirement for us to love one another. Her love was not limited to family; showing all who knew her that you did not have to be blood to be loved. She lived up to her role as a mom; glammom, bonus mom and grandmom, caregiver, companion, friend, and most importantly child of God. She would let you know were out of line and set you straight all while doing so in love.’
Her jazz, her glamour, and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed but we can take comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Earnestine Thomas, Alma Towler, and Barbara Garrison; brother, Ronnie Hodo and a bonus son, Tamarkco M. Hall.
Chantell leaves to cherish her memories: her special companion, James Brown; two sons, Tristan(Melody)Moore, LaGrange, GA; Chazary “Kit” (Eulyric H.) Brown, West Point, GA; three bonus daughters, Yolanda Williams, Katasha Johnson and Alexis(Derrick A.) Murphy all from West Point, GA; one brother, Willie C.(Brenda)H0d0, West Point, GA; mother-in-law, Annie Slaughter; brother-in-law, Rev. Michael(Julia) Slaughter and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 202 at 1:00 p.m. EST in the sanctuary of the Jehovah Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Slaughter, Pastor/Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery.
Pubic viewing will be on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to M.W. Lee Mortuary.
