Bobby Jerome Core was born on July 17, 1965, to the late Booker T. Core and Gussie Louise Madden Core in Gadsen County, FL. He departed his earthly life for his heavenly home on December 3, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, GA.
Bobby received his formal education through the public schools of Chambers County, AL. While there, he excelled at his favorite sport, basketball. He even earned the nickname, “Smooth” on the court from his teammates.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Valley, AL.
Bobby was employed with the West Point Pepperell/Stevens Mill for 21 years before the facility closed. He would then become a member of the Mauser Family. He remained there until his death. He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers and one sister.
His amazing life will forever be cherished with an abundance of memories to his mother; Gussie L. Core; his companion, Phyllis Richardson, West Point, GA; one brother,Billy L. Core, Valley, AL; seven sisters, Annie (Willie) Evans, Fairburn, GA, Loretta Core, Auburn, AL, Priscilla (Timothy) Lynch, Lanett, AL, Paige P. Core, Lanett, AL, Brenda Jones, Valley, AL, Mary Nell Brown, Lanett, AL, and Nellene Parker, Boston, MA; six aunts, Corsby Calhoun, Nettie Curtis, Lillie(Haynie) McCullough Mae Dunn, Rebecca Vaughn(deceased), and Inell Ramsey(deceased), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friend, Dexter Henderson and Daniel Bailey.
Funeral Services for Mr. Core will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. EST in the sanctuary of the New Dimensions Worship Center with Bishop Donald; Lancaster, Pastor, Eulogist, Min. Willie Lancaster, Min. Shamia Morgan and Elder Larry Heard, Assisting.
Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Final Arrangements entrusted to M. W. Lee Mortuary of West Point, GA.
