Miss Bobbie Dean Jones, the daughter of the late
Annie Ruth Jones, was born August 15 1942 in Troup County, Georgia. She was the eldest of seven children. Bobbie passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 at EMAC-Lanier, Valley, Alabama.
Bobbie Dean received her education in the West Point City School System and began working at an early age. Most notably, she was employed by Roger’s Barbecue for over 40 years until her retirement.
Bobbie Dean was a woman of few words, yet exemplified an everlasting quiet strength. Her favorite pastime included watching her beloved Atlanta Braves, soap operas, cooking, and sitting on her porch.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Roger “Boscoe” Jones, William H. “Four” Jones, Larry J. “Cowboy” Jones, and Joanne J. “Mama Jo” Jackson, and a niece, Larica J. Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories three loving ing children, Carlton L. Hargett, Tommy L. Jones, and Tammy L. Woody; two grandchildren, Ametris(Eric) Williams and Alicia McElderly; three great grandchildren; two siblings, James Morris Jones and Minnie (Gregory)Trice; brother-in-law Randy Jackson, a host of nieces nephews, cousins and other relative and friends; her special friend, Dexter Gilliam.
Graveside Services for Miss Bobbie Dean Jones will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Westview Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, GA 31833 with Reverend Adrian Frazier, Eulogist and Reverend Michael Slaughter, assisting.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
