Mr. Anthony LaMonte Strickland was born January 26, 1975, in Troup County, Georgia. He was the first child born to Sheila Strickland Dudley. He departed this life on Friday, September 1, 2023 at his residence in West Point, GA.
Anthony gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined the New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. In later years, he joined the Emanuel Chapel CME Church, West Point, GA. “Tony” aka “Tont Tone” ,as he was known by many, was a dedicated, faithful servant in both churches as well as a passionate minster of music by way of drummer for over 20 years.
He was a 1993 graduate of Troup County Comprehensive High School.
Tony had several employers, with longstanding employment with Country's Barbecue for 17 years. Tony enjoyed playing the drums, watching the GA Bulldogs, and spending time with his family and friends.
He affectionately loved everyone and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strickland Jr, Jerry Thomas Sr., Steven McCoy, Linda White, Deborah Huguley, Gregory Thomas, Charles Foreman, Byron Moore Jr., and Althea Strickland.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. ET in the sanctuary of the Emanuel Chapel CME Church 1309 E. 10th Street, West Point, GA which Pastor LaVisha Williams, Eulogist, Rev. Derrick Miller, Rev. Star Miller, Rev. C. J. Smith, assisting.
Interment will follow in Marseilles Cemetery, 400-498 E. 12th Street, West Point, GA 31833
Public Viewing will take place on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
