Martha was a truly wonderful person, and she will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
Martha was a real gem – absolutely one of a kind! She was my first across-the-street playmate as we spent our early days a block down in front of the LaFayette Methodist church (behind the current Renfroe's grocery.) We grew up in a Mayberry-like environment, playing all over a multi-block area chasing butterflies, listening to Cicadas at night and catching lightning bugs! Initially quiet and shy, Martha rapidly outgrew that phase and became one of the brightest and most outspoken members of our peer group. Although she and Vinson moved out of the LaFayette municipal area to raise their family, she stayed abreast of all local happenings. Since I left the area when we graduated in 1960, she went to the trouble to keep me fully informed of local activities for all those years. I'll certainly miss my very oldest and dear friend!
So very sorry for your loss....We are praying for you all! She was a BEAUTIFUL LADY! Mark and Lisa Mitchell Family
