Juanita Garrett, our beloved mother, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2023 after an extended illness; she was 84 years old.
Born in Dadeville, Alabama, she grew up in Tallapoosa County and graduated from Dadeville High School. She later married Joe Garrett, moving to Chambers County and raised her family near LaFayette in the Ridge Grove Community. She spent the last several years in Auburn, near family. She loved her family and friends, Auburn football, the beach, flowers and Oreo blizzards. She worked as a homemaker, a human resources manager and in semi-retirement as an Auburn University Fraternity House Mother. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her husband Joe Wheeler Garrett. She is survived by four children, Angela Jenkins (Jeff), Barbara Hill (Mike), Michelle Cosper, and Joe Garrett (Elizabeth); eight grandchildren, Jeff Jenkins (Kylie), Jake Jenkins (Alex), Jason Talbot (Ashley), Garrett Teel (Lesley), Jessica McGraw (Christopher), Lacey White (Chris), Kate Garrett and Wheeler Garrett; and ten great grandchildren, Isla Jenkins, Woods Jenkins, Mac Jenkins, Carley McDaniel(Brandon), Kendall Talbot, Piper Williams, Hank McGraw, Levi White, Landon White, and Christian White.
Visitation will be 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at LaFayette Heights Family Life Center. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at LaFayette City Cemetery
