Mr. Jerry Crowder, 70, of Lanett, Alabama died Wednesday June 4, 2025 at his residence in Lanett, AL.

Jerry was a graduate of Valley High School and Nashville Diesel College in Nashville, TN. He was an ASE certified diesel mechanic. He worked at Diversified Products in Opelika for many years and retired from Wal-Mart Distribution Center in LaGrange.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, eating, and sharing his wealth of knowledge with anyone that would listen. Jerry was known for his love of whistling. I'm heartbroken over Jerry's passing. I've known him since 1981 A man of impeccable character, integrity and a true friend with whoever he came in contact with. His dedication to his family and friends can never be forgotten. He helped me many days with my truck problems and was always just a phone call away. I will always hold a special place in my heart for this special friend.
To Jerry's family... My name is James Martin and I worked with Jerry for sixteen years at Diversified Products in the Trucking Division. When I started working there I was a dumb 18 year old kid. My first job there was a custodian in the Truck Shop (fresh out of High School) and from Day #1, Jerry treated me as though I was the President of the Company. He was always so kind to me and he always took the time to teach this young kid about life. He didn't even realize he was teaching me back then because I learned so much by simply "watching how Jerry lived". There is no better way to show the Love of Christ to others (it was just natural to Jerry). We shared many laughs and practical jokes (on each other) during those years. I will forever be grateful for the time that Jerry took with me while correcting me when I needed it. I'm sure that when Jerry stepped into eternity and came face to face with Jesus Christ, the first words he heard was "Well done Jerry, Well done"!
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Jerry's passing. He was such a great friend to my mama (Debbie Staley) and I have so many fond memories of him when they worked together. He always made us laugh and was always a bright light. Our prayers are with each of the family members in the days, weeks and months to come. Praying for peace and comfort. Rest easy Jerry... you were truly a great friend and person.
So sorry to hear about Mr Jerry. Praying for his family. God bless.
Losing a loved one is incredibly painful, and very personal.
