Obituary For Gregory Cooper Abney
Gregory Cooper Abney 17, of LaFayette, Alabama died Friday June 29, 2018 at his residence.
Cooper was born in Lee County, Alabama August 13, 2000 to James Lee (Red) Abney and Karla Gregory Abney Greathouse, he was employed with his father at the AbneyCo Company, Cooper loved to hunt, fish and ride 4 wheelers. He loved his family and friends. He was a great son, brother,uncle and friend. He also loved to travel and was a hard worker.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday July 6, 2018 at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church 4472 Co.Rd. 53 LaFayette, Alabama with burial to follow at the church cemetery, with the Rev. Ricky Cummings and the Rev. Barry Brooks officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 1PM until 2PM prior to the service.
Cooper is survived by his Mother-Karla (Jonathan) Greathouse of LaFayette, Al., Father-James Lee (Red) Abney of LaFayette, Al., 3 Sisters-Nicole (Jamie) Brooks of Chelsea, Al., Erika Whaley of LaFayette, Al., his Twin Sister-Karlee Abney of LaFayette, Al., Brother-Hunter Abney of LaFayette, Al., Grandparents-James (Brenda) Gregory of LaFayette, Al., Nieces & Nephews-Jacob, Hannah & Austin Brooks of Chelsea, Al., & Madison Johns of LaFayette, Al.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents-Cooper & Rosa Looser, Elton & Ernestine Gregory, James and Arlene Martin, Grandmother-Bobbie Bradfield, Nephew-Ryan Brooks, & Best Friend-Blayke Henderson. Pallbearers are Hunter Abney, Coy Burton, Blake Barron, Bradley McDaniel, Jacob Brooks, Justin Brown, Justin Brooks, Noah Tapley, Robbie Abney, Jr., Tillman Hodge, Wesley Dowdy & Paden Abney.

It is with deep deep sadness I send my condolences to the family of Mr. Gregory Abney. I am so sorry for you loss. No doubt this is a very painful feeling of losing a young loved one. Mere words cannot heal the pain and emptiness you may be feeling. There is hope found in God's word that can be of great comfort in this distressing time. Isaiah 26:19 will provide comfort of a resurrection hope, and 1 Corithians 15:26 gives insight on how God feels about death and his plan for it.
