Obituary For Charles Alton “Al” Myers Jr.
Charles Alton “Al” Myers Jr., 68, of LaFayette, Alabama, passed away on February 6, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Chambers County, Alabama, on August 19, 1957, to the late Charles and Carolyn Myers.
Al owned and operated Myers 1 Stop and later worked and retired from Chambers County Sheriff’s Department. Al was an avid Alabama fan. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church Lanett, Alabama.
Al is survived by a son, Buddy (Fran) Groover of Lanett, 4 grandchildren, Chelsea Groover, Colby Groover, Logan (Hannah) Groover, and Ryan Groover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Dianne Myers.
A Graveside will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.(EST)/ 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Oakwood Cemetery, 1462 1st St., Lanett, Al 36863, with Reverend Mitch Hamilton officiating. Family will receive friends at the cemetery prior to the service.

Al, you always kept me smiling and I enjoyed telling you and Ms. Diane about places to eat and antique shop in Georgia. We appreciated you running central control at the jail too! I will forever miss you and Diane as your anytime nurse.
My Buddy. We spent lots of time over the years when Jason Fuller and I were together working the landfill. He always had me an R C Cola because he knew he knew I liked them. Plus he and I could pick at Jason when Alabama would win over Auburn You left us way too soon my friend Until we meet again ... Roll Tide Roll!!
