Ben Lewis Langley, a beloved member of the Ridge Grove Community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Compassus Bethany House in Auburn, AL. He was born on March 19, 1938, in Ridge Grove, Alabama, to the late Lewis and Catherine Langley. Ben graduated from Lafayette High School in 1956 and honorably served his country in the Army from 1960 to 1962.
Ben was a man of diverse talents and interests. He was a businessman, running the local county store for several years before transitioning to farming, where he raised cattle and managed timber. A member of County Line Baptist Church, Ben was a man of faith and community. He cherished his time spent with family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life: his cows, his faithful dog, Baby, and a Zero Dr. Pepper.
Ben was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Langley (wife, the late Doris); his nephew, Curtis Langley (wife, Victoria); and his niece, Pam Burgess. He is survived by his brother, Mac Langley (wife, the late Barbara); his sister, Jeanette Rollins (husband, the late James); and his nieces and nephews: Thomas Langley (wife, the late Terri), Cathy McCoy (husband, Skip), Chris Langley (wife, Elizabeth), Mitchell Langley (wife, Michelle), Allyson Matthews (husband, Richard), Phillip Langley (wife, Teresa), Mark Langley (wife, LaDonna), Randall Rollins (wife, Shelia), Tammy Lovvorn (husband, Jay), and Richie Rollins.
A one-hour viewing for family will be held at Jeff Jones Funeral Home on Friday, April 18th. A graveside service, open to all friends and family, will follow at 2:00 PM at Lafayette Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to County Line Baptist Church.
Ben will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
